Yes that is spelt right. It is pronounced "ittle" or "eye-tee-il" if you want, and it is a conflation of "IT" and "little".

Did you know Standish Chaos reports ("70% of IT projects fail") have been well discredited? No? Stop using the numbers. We're bad at IT projects but we're not that bad. And considering what we're up against, perhaps we're not that bad at all.

Attention-seeking declarations of death

We regularly hear how something in IT "is dead". Almost invariably it isn't. IT isn't dead. Email certainly isn't, although its demise is announced fairly regularly. They're attention-seeking. Ignore them.

Oops, sorry. I accused Forrester of repeatedly doing Chicken ITle articles, when in fact only the latest one was by Forrester and the previous instance - on Service Desk - was Gartner Killing the Help Desk Softly - or Blowing It Up.

Luddites react against technology because they lack vision. It's not their fault they can't foresee the future. Nobody can. But in every single other technology shift, entrepreneurs found a use for idle labour, and the efficiencies of technology meant there was new wealth to buy those new services. Don't fear the robot.
